Today, Cloud storage company Dropbox has hit 100 million users and the company is giving away gigabytes for celebration purpose.
Today, the company has become 5 years old and Company’s founder Drew Houston declared in a blog post that the company has reached a milestone.
“Once upon a time, Dropbox had its humble beginnings in a Boston train station when I forgot my USB stick at home. We’re still unsure if it was fate or fluke, but one thing’s stayed the same all these years: each of us has a unique reason for using Dropbox.”
While talking to the New York Times, Houston said that the number reflect user base that was created last year.
Thanks to new customers and small business owners using our services and transferring personal and professional files to the Internet.
He said:
“Even 100 million is still at a single-dot percentage of the people we could reach,”
The company has directed many users into the world of the cloud storage, a space that is becoming crowd rapidly.
Earlier this, many users had been spammed because of a glitch. Users have reported a bug to the company and after that company has taken steps to overcome it.
The company is exchanging stories for Dropbox and is now giving away 10 GB for life for top 100 favorite stories and 100 GB for life for its Top 10 favorites.
